Our Founders
In 1987 our founders Peggy and Paul Foung tossed a coin in their home basement to decide the name of their new company. Before this endeavor, Paul had a well-paying job as a medical equipment designer and his wife, Peggy, was a successful salesperson for computer cables and accessories. Being a gifted engineer who invented a cardiologic diagnosing machine, Paul always embraced technical challenges and enjoyed resolving the issues for a variety of customers. Triggered by wire related problems brought up by Peggy over their meals, Paul has developed an in-depth interest in as well as knowledge base for surmounting manifold electronic obstacles facing the connectivity industry, in addition to his medical equipment expertise. With an initial small investment raised through their families, Peggy and Paul Foung started Archtech Electronics Corporation from their home basement. The name Archtech drew inspiration from the St. Louis Arch landmark. The Foungs’ vision is that their company will build an innovative bridge that arches over the technology rivers.
Since its inception, Archtech has grown into a multi-million dollar global company, famous for being a technological forerunner entitled to numerous patents and inventions, for example, the lockable patch cords (netLock™ series) that make data communication more secured. During the Clinton administration’s term, in response to former President Clinton’s policy of providing high speed internet to every household in the nation, Paul was enlightened to create the brand name NTW® (Networking The World) for Archtech, not only to differentiate the company in an increasingly saturated market, but also translate this sentiment well by communicating the Foungs’ desire to provide quality cabling solutions that will help connect the entire world where all people – even in the most remote areas of the globe – when networked, hold the power to create opportunity for themselves and others.
